Welcome to our Reception class page!
In Reception class we have lots of fun with our learning and learn both indoors and outdoors. We offer personalised and unique learning experiences which enhance the children's imaginations and develop their creativity. Our structured timetable enables all children to reach their full potential by being exposed to engaging stimulus and ensures our children enjoy their learning. We believe all children should feel safe and valued allowing them to express themselves fully and show off their amazing personalities. We structure our learning through topics such as Space, Rainforests and Jungles, Farm, Superheroes, and Minibeasts, aswell as taking into account the children's interests, which provides a rounded curriculum for all children. In addition to this, children are surrounded by books and are therefore encouraged to enjoy reading and story telling right from an early age.
As a key part of the Early Years Unit here at St Mary's, we work closely with the Nursery class which helps to ease the transition to Reception when the time comes and to share unique experiences relating to our topics.
