In Mathematics, this term will focus on key concepts such as mass and volume, which will engage children in hands-on activities to explore measurement. Our students will also learn essential skills in multiplication and division, laying strong foundations for their numerical understanding. Furthermore, a fun exploration of fractions will help them grasp the idea of parts of a whole, making maths both enjoyable and practical.
In English, we will explore the theme of "Lost and Found," allowing our students to delve into captivating stories that ignite their imagination. We will investigate various narratives by the same author, promoting comprehension and encouraging them to draw comparisons. Our young writers will also create non-chronological reports, enabling them to present information in a structured manner. To add a delightful twist, we will culminate our English journey with a themed poetry unit, where children can express their thoughts and feelings creatively. |
Science lessons will celebrate the fascinating world of animals, where children will actively compare various species through hands-on investigation and observation. We will create data charts and classify animals according to their characteristics, fostering curiosity and an enduring love for nature while reinforcing scientific concepts through direct experiences.

Our Religious Education sessions will delve into themes from “Come and See”, focusing on meals and changes. This thematic approach will give children an opportunity to appreciate cultural traditions and their significance, fostering a greater understanding of community and shared values, as well as illuminating how different celebrations occur in various faiths.
In Computing, our focus will be on grouping data, where students will learn to organise information effectively through engaging activities that involve real-life applications, such as creating simple surveys and presenting their findings. This skill is essential in today’s digital era and promotes critical thinking.
We don’t have a history topic this half term however, we will still continue learning about key events that happen in our school calendar. |

In Geography, we will embark on an exploration of the varied weather patterns across the UK. Through interactive discussions, storytelling, and project-based learning, students will learn to identify different types of weather and understand how it impacts our daily lives. We will incorporate engaging activities such as weather charts and local weather forecasts, which will not only broaden their geographical understanding but also develop their observational skills and critical thinking.
In Music, we will deeply explore timbre and rhythmic patterns. Through instrument exploration, singing, and clapping games, children will have the chance to experiment with sounds, developing their musicality and understanding of rhythm while also encouraging collaboration and teamwork during group performances.
In Physical Education, our focus will be on bouncing and kicking, which will help young learners enhance their motor skills while promoting physical fitness, coordination, and teamwork through a series of engaging games and activities designed to foster enjoyment in sports.

PSHE |
We are not covering Design and Technology through the national curriculum this half term, however, will be continuing to develop our scissor skills through art and design. |
The Arts will take a hands-on approach with a unit on sculpture and 3D art. Students will have the opportunity to work with a variety of materials to create their own unique masterpieces, igniting their creativity and appreciation for different artistic expressions. We will also explore famous sculptors and their techniques, allowing students to gain inspiration from established artists.
In PSHE, we will emphasise the fundamental importance of keeping safe. Through role-playing scenarios, discussions, and practical demonstrations, our aim is to empower young learners with the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate their world safely, thereby laying the groundwork for positive life choices and interpersonal skills. |
